Why use Order of Battle for The Old World?

Last updated:

Most Old World tools stop at the roster. Order of Battle keeps going. You build a Grand Army or Army of Infamy list, the app flags composition limits as you add units, and the same list opens in Play at the table. Play has a units tab for wounds and break points, a magic tab with your wizards and lores, phase checklists for Strategy, Movement, Shooting and Combat, army rules, and victory points. It's free, it's unofficial, and it doesn't ask for an account. Lists stay in your browser. The same app also builds Age of Sigmar lists, so if you play both games you keep one tool. The trade-offs are real: The Old World side is in beta, there's no cloud sync between devices, and catalogue data comes from a community project, so check points against your books. If you need tournament sign-up or synced lists, New Recruit fits better.

What makes it different from other Old World builders?

Play: the list you built becomes the screen you use during the game.

Is it better than New Recruit?

For table use, maybe. For tournaments and cloud sync, New Recruit is stronger.

Does it need an account?

No.
